The new syllabus of DOE’s various levels of courses, popularly called O-level, Alevel, B-level and C-level is out. Keeping in mind the various developments taking place around the world in the field of computers, these syllabus include most of them. While keeping in mind the level of students studying the various levels, the degree of difficulties of the syllabus have been very well designed. I hope that after the new syllabus the courses would be as popular as they were before. There had been a long struggle between Training Institutes and Government Organizations, since these organizations would not recognize the degree/diploma given by them. Students passing out from these institutions were not given jobs based upon the said diplomas/degrees. Ultimately, the Government formed a society under the Department of Electronics, called DOEACC, who conducts tests and gives grades to the students irrespective of the institutes where they have studied. It is also possible to give the test without having any proper institutional studies. This is more or less on the terms of SAT and GRE conducted by USA. The only difference is that this is not online. There are fixed dates for the exams. The course for this has been designed for students to appear in the exams at various levels. These levels are O-level, A-level, B-level, C-level. The most popular among these is the O-level, since it is the entry level. Once you have cleared the O-level, you are eligible for a government job. Each course has been divided into various modules. Various books are available for various modules. This book is also made for you to prepare for the O-level course. This book has been written totally in accordance with the syllabus provided. Each chapter has been embedded with the screen shots for you to know what to expect on the screen, while running the application. Each chapter contains examples which can be attempted to supplement the reading. At the end of the chapter, there is a thorough revision of the text read. Not to mention of the questions provided in the beginning, both in the form of objective and subjective. The book also contains Sample papers which are based on the samples provided by DOEACC society. These would help you in preparing for the exams.

Introduction to multimedia Price 2.99  |  2.99 Rewards Points

First thing first, let us understand what Multimedia means. Multi means many, i.e., not one, more than one. Media means medium to communicate or talk. Now how would a computer talk to you. It would either create a sound, show a picture or some text on the screen. All this would be communicated to you by computer using medium like Monitor to show the text and picture, speaker to broadcast sound. All these mediums of the computer, like monitor and speaker are collectively called Computer Media. Now what we make of Multimedia. It is a process by which computer communicates with you using more than one computer medium like sound, text, graphics, animation or video. Any two or more combinations from the above can be used and the net result can be displayed on the monitor screen or transferred to your web or the website which you may create

Alphanumeric characters are used to present information in the text form. By alphanumeric I mean that characters are either Alpha (i.e., from a to z) or Numeric (i.e., from 1 to 9). In computer most of the files are text files or graphic files. Multimedia uses both and sometimes even combines them to make the presentation look more attractive. Text can be of various types such as plaintext, formatted text, and hypertext.

Sound is perhaps the most important part of the multimedia project. It is one of the basics of the project. Well, sound can be very distinctive. Any sound can make a pleasant listening or it can sound disturbing too if made at a little higher pitch. So while making the multimedia project it is imperative that the sound should be perfect. It should not disturb but should give pleasant listening. Sound is like waves. When something vibrates in the air by moving back and forth, it creates waves of pressure. These waves are spread like the ripples tossed into a still pool, and when they reach your eardrums, you experience the changes of pressure, or vibrations, as sound. Sound is defined as the audiotry sensation produced by the mechanical vibrations of objects. Sound is usually represented as waves, periodic waves corresponding to musical sound and a periodic waves corresponds to noise. Acoustics is the branch of science dealing with the sutdy of sound and isconcerned with the gereation, transmission and reception of sound waves. There are different methods to produce mechanical vibrations, such as beating a drum, ringing a bell and breaking a glass on the floor

During the late 1970s, personal computers became more powerful, capable of drawing both basic and complex shapes and designs. In the 1980s, artists and graphic designers began to see the personal computer, particularly the Commodore Amiga and Macintosh, as a serious design tool, one that could save time and draw more accurately than other methods. 3D computer graphics became possible in the late 1980s with the powerful SGI computers, which were later used to create some of the first fully computer-generated short films at Pixar. The Macintosh remains one of the most popular tools for computer graphics in graphic design studios and businesses.

Once my cousin brought a video cassette of film Star Wars from USA. We were very happy at the prospect of seeing it on TV before it was officially released in India. But, our joy was really shortlived. The cassette was on NTSC and would not run on our Video Cassette Recorder. It could handle only the PAL cassettes. It was indeed a very bad experience since he had to take the cassette back with him. At that time there was nobody who could convert it from NTSC to PAL. Similarly while creating multimedia project we have to take care of the fact, where the video is going to run. Though now-a-days most of the software run videos created for other software but still we must understand the various standard formats and the type of files they make.

For developing a multimedia project, you have to assemble few things. Among them the main is software, which is authoring tool. These tools are software packages with standard user interface elements that are used to produce contents for web publishing. They provide an integrated environment for binding together content and functions of your project, and typically includes everything needed to create, edit and import specific types of data, assemble raw data into playback sequence and provide a structured method or language for responding to the user input.

Html basics Price 2.99  |  2.99 Rewards Points

HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language. This is text oriented language used for writing programs to create web sites. There is no need for compiling or doing anything else as you would do in any other programming language. However, there are few things which you have to take care of as you do in your text related documents. You can have Headings, Paragraphs, Bulleted text, etc. You can even have tables too. However, there is no fix page layout as such. HTML does not support it. You can have the text in Bold, Italics, etc. But, each one of the above set of text has to be tagged accordingly, e.g., Heading, for the text to be taken as headings. In fact Markup means this only. But, remember the file has to be text and not a word processing document. A simple ASCII text file. As said earlier, HTML is used to create web sites. Since we now know that the text files are created using HTML but how are these so-called text files going to be used. These text files are used with programs called HTML browsers, take these HTML files and create web sites.
